MAC False Lashes Mascara Review

mac mascara

If we were forced to ditch our make up kits and only keep one product, most of us would say the mascara is the keeper.

It’s our instant  go to product which makes leaving the house almost completely make up free more acceptable!

The latest mascara I’ve been trialling is Mac’s False Lashes Extreme Black mascara. I’d heard it was a popular product so thought I’d put its raving reviews to the test. Here’s the low down…

Firstly at £19, it’s certainly up there with some of the premium prices. Upon opening you can see its brush size is more than generous and can hold a lot of product reducing the need to have to constantly re-apply.

I can see why its called extreme black as the product itself is certainly very inky. The texture is almost mousse like which means its very clean to apply. The brush type along with it’s rich formula ensures that lashes are given a proper full effect allowing only a few strokes to create some intense volume.

The only down side is that it didn’t give me any extra length which means it isn’t really full-fulling that promise of a false lash effect.

All in all I’d give it a 7/10 for its a quick volume however unless you already have long lashes this product will not create any extra length.

The Biker Coat

Say goodbye to the biker jacket and wave hello to the biker coat!

Biker coats seem to be everywhere on the high street this season as they reveal an alternative to the traditional biker jacket providing lighter shades and longer designs. I styled my camel biker coat with a contrasting tartan scarf and long boots.

Everyday lip favourites

Nude lips are still bang on trend this season. Whether it’s a night out or daytime look, these products are currently my go to favourites.

MAC Lipstick in Taupe £15.50

I prefer a slightly darker nude/brown on the lips which means Taupe is the perfect shade. It creates a rich wintery look which is complemented by gold eyeshadows and a darker contour.

MAC Lip Pencil in Stripdown £12.50

Typically a slightly darker outer line on the lip will emphasise the lip shape and provide a more defined pout. However currently many looks are going for a completely contrasting outer shade. Personally I still prefer a more blended look so I use the colour Stripdown to complement my inner lip shade.

Nars Hot Sand Lip Gloss £19.50

I initially purchased this product in a set but will definitely be re-buying! This shade is great for adding a subtle shimmer and high light to the middle of the lips which immediately creates a fuller effect. It’s not too sticky and lasts several hours before the need to re-apply.

The perfect primer

We all know primers are a must-have product within our make up kit. They even out skin tone, hide blemishes and ultimately cut out the hard work for our foundations and powders. However finding the perfect primer isn’t easy.

Many do add a soft texture to the skin but don’t actually add a first base of cover. Whilst others cake the skin far too much, resulting in cracked foundation and an unnaturally harsh finish.

After years of trying, I think I’ve found the perfect primer! (Well for now!)

I’m currently loving Giorgio Armani’s  Face Fabric.

This product uses transluscent  3D micro-fil technology that brings lightness and fluidity to the skin. It creates a sheer base allowing superb blending and layering for other products. It’s a very versatile product in which I  can wear alone, or combined with my foundation.

Since using this product I’ve managed to reduce the amount of foundation and powder worn on my skin whilst covering redness and dark circles.

It comes in six shades so you are sure to find your perfect match.

Although it is quite expensive at £33, it’s definitely worth the money and it certainly lasts as you only need a small amount for maximum coverage.

Be my valentines

V day is fast approaching and whether you’re going on a fancy date, or a night out with the girls, a sexy, confidence boosting dress is a must to get you into the mood for love.

I was lucky enough to select this gorgeous cut out dress for Luxemme.

The high neck and open back design ooze sexiness whilst the figure flattering fabric keeps you feeling classy and elegant .  I styled this with gold strappy heels and a red rose of course!
